Informative website picks up award

A REDDITCH network website has been rewarded with the title of Innovative Business of the Year during a recent awards ceremony.
Thebestof Redditch, which champions local businesses, picked up the accolade at the Fast Growth Business Awards 2008 last month.
Hundreds of companies vied for the top slots at the awards, with thebestof beating off new innovative stars, ‘Broadbean Technology’ and ‘Challs International’ to achieve winning status.
A leading panel of entrepreneurs, investors and experts judged the awards, including Peter Jones, entrepreneur and star of BBC’s Dragons’ Den, Simon Kossoff, managing director of Carluccios and Rene Carayol, business guru and TV presenter.
Linsey Knight, who runs thebestof of Redditch said they were delighted by the award.
"Over this last year we have launched some very innovative schemes, such as our review pages and monthly awards," she said.
"And it’s just great to be recognised for our forward thinking and entrepreneurial vision, especially from a selection of such highly regarded entrepreneurs and businessmen as those that sat on the panel.”
Thebestof Redditch is one of a network of sites around the country which provides details on local businesses, with an extensive review page allocated for each, as well as restaurants, places to go and things to do within the area.
CEO Nigel Botterill, who founded the sites with his wife Sue in July 2005, added: “Without thebestof Redditch’s creative thinking and excellent service to its community we would not have been rewarded with this award.
