  • New manager for credit company

    Lianne Cooper

    18 July 2008

THE REDDITCH branch of a home credit company has welcomed a new regional operations manager.
Provident Financial plc has appointed Greg Cunningham to oversee its work in Redditch and ensure the home-collected credit business continues to flourish in the area.
Mr Cunningham will also be responsible for Worcester, Stourbridge and Dudley areas, with around 30,000 customers and 240 staff and agents to oversee.
Previously an area manager for the company in Worcester, MR Cunningham first joined the business in 1990 where he was responsible for eight local agents. With over 18 years’ experience in consumer credit, he is well placed to meet the demands of a busy and growing part of this UK-wide company.
He said: "I’ve got great vision for what my team can achieve in our area.
"The team I have working with me in my region is second to none and there are some fantastic rewards for those who seize the opportunities."
Despite the recent effects of the international credit crisis Mr Cunningham said that good business management can still produce impressive results.
"In my area alone, we make almost 1.5 million visits to customers each year," he said.
"At a time when many banks are closing branches and forcing customers to use the internet, we see every one of our customers personally every week.
"We’re growing our customer base through this service and at the same time working hard to keep bad debt levels down."
In and among steering the business onto greater things, Mr Cunningham is a dedicated footballer and plays regularly. He is also passionate about skiing, although is the first to admit that this might have to take a back seat once his twins are born in May.
