  • Law firm launches divorce guide

    Lianne Cooper

    18 July 2008

A FAMILY law specialist firm with a base in Redditch has launched a new guide book to divorce.
Following demand for the first edition of Surviving Family Conflict and Divorce, after it was published last year, Woolley & Co has produced a second edition of the pocket guide to help people pick their way through the mind field of divorce.
Prenuptial agreements, how to make a separation legal, sorting finances – including pension assets – step-parents, grandparents’ rights and divorce options for ex-pats are all discussed in the book, which can be ordered or downloaded for free.
Alison Hill, who works for Woolley & Co from her Redditch base, serving clients across Worcestershire and the West Midlands, said: "Divorce is never a pleasant experience and we have found that many couples considering separation are distressed further by simply not knowing what is involved.
"Picking out some of the main issues on separation and putting them in a discreet book that people can keep to hand is an idea that really seems to have taken off."
Woolley & Co is an award-winning specialist family law firm that has built a strong reputation for innovation, flexibility and dealing in plain English, with fixed-fee services which can be purchased directly from its website, cutting down on the need for meetings and ensuring charging is transparent.
It operates with lawyers working remotely from home offices and making optimum use of the latest web-based technology to serve clients.
Ms Hill added: "Copies of the first edition went really quickly so we thought it was something worth updating and then publishing again so the second edition is now available.
"The idea is not to encourage more divorce, but to ensure that those who do feel their marriage has broken down irretrievably can be properly informed about what to do."
The booklet can be ordered free by calling 0800 3213832 or an electronic version can be downloaded from www.family-lawfirm.co.uk.
